• Series: First Importance
A lot of religions are based on one person's private experiences -- whether it's the Buddha, Muhammed, or Joseph Smith. Adherents to these religions must, therefore, trust that those individuals weren't lying. Christianity, on the other hand, is based on the public witness of several eyewitnesses and is open to historical inquiry. Not only did some of Jesus' earliest followers write about him, so did unbelievers. In this message, we will focus on the phrase "Christ died." We will see that Christian and non-Christian alike wrote about this event. And not only will we consider the historical evidence, we will consider how Jesus' death is the answer to one of life's biggest questions: how can God allow suffering?
