What is a prophet and why are they necessary? The Old Testament prophet was a man of God who spoke God’s word to the people. In this message, we will see that Adam, Abraham, and Moses as well as later prophets did this very thing. At the same time, these prophets all pointed to a greater prophet who would one day come and give the final and definitive word from God. The church now has a prophetic role both to itself and to the outside world to proclaim the truth of God’s word.
