What are we to make of all these sacrifices? These chapters prescribe burnt offerings, grain offerings, peace offerings, sin offerings, and guilt offerings. What are these offerings and what do they accomplish? What these sacrifices reveal is that God is both holy and merciful at the same time. He does not turn a blind eye to sin, but he also forgives sinners. Moreover, we will see that the sacrifices were not an end in themselves. They pointed towards a greater sacrifice that would make atonement for the sins of the world.
